Happy Mother's Day!!!!!!!!

Yesterday was, obviously, Mother's Day.  It only comes once a year, officially, but we ought to celebrate mothers every day!  Yesterday morning, we had my Mom's parents over for brunch.  We had whole wheat pancakes with all the fixings, fried apples and sausage.  Yum!!  A little later we had homemade peach pie for dessert!  It was a really good morning, very peaceful and enjoyable.  I spent a lot of time in the kitchen, but I had fun with what I was doing, so that was great! :)

That afternoon, we went over to Yosemite High School to meet the Beckers, Thompsons and Shaws for church and a picnic.  Yep, we had church at a high school!  It was great, Daddy preached, we all sang hymns, spent some time praying, and then had pizza and salad for dinner.  Cookies and brownies were for dessert, and everyone played games, soccer, or just hung out.  Some of us girls walked around (and around and around) the track and talked.  It was all so much fun!  I regret that I didn't take any pictures, though I did have my camera. :(

It was a really wonderful Mother's Day, and I think that all the mothers, including mine, would agree.  I love mothers, especially MINE!!!!!!!!!!!

Delectable photography

In case you didn't already know, I love to take pictures of food (for one thing, food is a lot more patient than people when it comes to posing).  People especially, but food second-best.  Here is a link to a small web album of some of my food pictures.

Friendship, simply put

"A friend is one of the nicest things you can have, and one of the best things you can be."
 ~Douglas Pagels

Friendship with Jesus!
Fellowship divine!
O what blessed, sweet communion!
Jesus is a Friend of mine.
A Friend when other friendships cease,
A Friend when others fail,
A Friend Who gives me joy and peace,
A Friend when foes assail!
~Friendship with Jesus hymn

"A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity."
~Proverbs 17:17

"True friendship comes when silence between two people is comfortable."
~Dave Tyson Gentry

What a friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!
Oh, what peace we often forfeit,
Oh, what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer!
~Joseph M. Scriven

"Faithful are the wounds of a friend; profuse are the kisses of an enemy."
~Proverbs 27:6

"Friends are those rare people who ask how you are and then wait for the answer."
~Author Unknown

"A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother."
~Proverbs 18:24

Trumpet Conference pictures

From Wednesday to Monday, our family was staying at the Parish ranch for the 4th annual Sound of a Trumpet Conference!  We came early to help prepare, and the conference was Friday to Sunday.  On Monday, it was just us, the Parish's and another family, and we debriefed and enjoyed wonderful fellowship together.  It was six days of amazing memories for me!

I made a web album of some of the pictures I took, and a lot of them are of the children there, as they are VERY photogenic!  I love portraits, obviously, but I attempted to get some pictures of what was happening as well.  Hope you enjoy!

Ski Badger Pass!!!!!

Yesterday, our family went up to Badger Pass in Yosemite to ski.  Some of our friends caravaned with us and we all had a great day on the slopes.  The weekend storm had layed down a base of nice snow, and although it got slushy in the afternoon, it was still great to be up there!

Delaney and I snowboarded for part of the day, and this year I'm FINALLY getting the hang of it!  Of course, I'm a skier at heart, but it's cool to do both.  And Libbey is getting to be a good little skier herself...even going on the "big" runs!  She'll take off next year for sure.

Afterwards, we of course had pizza at Me-N-Ed's.  How else would we end a ski day?!

Here's a picture of the group...cheers to making memories!!
