Ski Badger Pass!!!!!

Yesterday, our family went up to Badger Pass in Yosemite to ski.  Some of our friends caravaned with us and we all had a great day on the slopes.  The weekend storm had layed down a base of nice snow, and although it got slushy in the afternoon, it was still great to be up there!

Delaney and I snowboarded for part of the day, and this year I'm FINALLY getting the hang of it!  Of course, I'm a skier at heart, but it's cool to do both.  And Libbey is getting to be a good little skier herself...even going on the "big" runs!  She'll take off next year for sure.

Afterwards, we of course had pizza at Me-N-Ed's.  How else would we end a ski day?!

Here's a picture of the group...cheers to making memories!!

A post for Delaney, who is 13 today!!

Well...I must say that it's strange to have a sister that is now in her teens!  Delaney Marin has been my playmate since she was born, first as my baby doll and then my companion who played House with me and shared a room with me.  Even though Delaney screamed and cried the first time I ever held her, we've been great friends and sisters.

Delaney is, I think, mature and wise for her age.  In fact, I sometimes wonder if she should have been the oldest, and I the middle child!  She is very submissive and thinks before she speaks, which has been good for me to learn from.  She also has a goofy, very playful side that makes her fun to be around.  She's always been able to make me laugh, even when I don't feel like it.

As Delaney grows older, she is also growing in her relationship with the Lord.  She was baptized last year, and eagerly explores the Bible and seeks to learn more about Him.  Her desire to please and obey God is lovely, and He is seen in her life.  We call her "Diligent Delaney", for that's who she is!  She is diligent in all she does, both for man and for God.

"You shall diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, and His testimonies and His statutes, which He has commanded you."
~Deuteronomy 6:17

So, Happy Birthday Delaney...I love you and look forward to another great year of being your big sis!!

To my favorite smallest sister Libbey...turning 7 today

For many days, Libbey has been anxiously awaiting her 7th birthday.  In the past week, she has been decorating the house, counting her gifts displayed in the living room, and playing with the helium birthday balloon sent to her and Delaney by a friend.  There is no doubt that this girl is excited about being 7 years old!

Ever since our home was blessed with Libbey, she has been a delightful, smiley girl that loves to give hugs and kisses.  She loves to play dollhouse and "cook" food, and more recently she is taking on reading and writing very well.  Just a week ago I received a "poem" that Libbey wrote all by herself, and part of it went:

"Thear wus a litol grl that had the tekin poks and she dednt like it bekus it echt a lot and tht grol wus Haley."
(Translation:  There was a little girl that had the chicken pox and she didn't like it because it itched a lot and that girl was Haley.)

Being Libbey's big sister is a joy and a challenge, and having her watching me is a reminder that I need to be a good example of a godly young lady to her and Delaney.  In a way, she keeps me accountable.  May God bless her richly in the years to come, and make her into the lady God calls her to be!

"Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord..."
~Psalm 127:3

I love you so much, Libbey!  May your birthday be as sweet as you are!

Happy 50th Birthday Dad!!!!!!!!

When I think of all the fatherless children in the world today, I feel 110% more blessed to know that I have a father that is dedicated to Christ and his family, and lives to serve and love them.

Last night, our family went to a very nice dinner to celebrate Dad's birthday.  But today, his actual birthday, we are hosting Sunday fellowship and honoring his birthday as well!

I think that my dad exemplifies Galatians 5:22-23 very well.  He uses it a lot to teach us how to be, and he is a wonderful example of living it.  I admire how he is servant-hearted, patient, loving and merciful to this house of women that can be silly, emotional, over-affectionate and just...girly.  But he doesn't care!  He also works really, really hard in prospering his home-business and serves his clients faithfully.  I am blessed that Dad employed me to be a small part of the VC (Virtual Controller)!

Dad has taught always taught us to love and serve God by reading the Bible and thoroughly studying it.  He is discerning and has studied many doctrines teachings to further his understanding in them.  But he is careful and holds them all up to the light of Scripture, as the Lord commands.  I feel very secure, knowing that he is learning and getting answers for the questions we are asking.  He is a wise and discerning man, which I regard very highly.

Not only does Daddy have a very serious and quiet side, but he has a big fun and adventurous one too!  He loves to travel, which is great because his business is compatible to that, and adventure is his middle name.  Our family took a trip around the U.S. in a trailer, and many other small trips that held unique and exciting new things each time!  He loves to try new things and do stuff that other people can't do until they're retired or something.  He works hard at his business when we're traveling, but always finds time to be adventurous with the family!

Overall, I am extremely blessed and grateful to have Howard Beyer for my father.  Happy birthday, and I love you, Daddy!!!!
